A critical administrative role, part of the broader Middle Office / Investment Operations team at Prescient Investment Management, with a key responsibility to provide comprehensive day to day assistance for end to end on-boarding process of new clients.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • First line support to business users of the transfer agency system
  • Provide support to the client facing team for the onboarding of new clients and investors, for local and cross jurisdictional structures
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the CDD/AML procedures at all times, and ensure that high risk matters receive appropriate level of attention, escalation and sign off
  • Be able to apply risk-based approach independently when reviewing CDD
  • Ensuring that all day-to-day matters required to be completed are performed in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Communicating with internal teams and following up as necessary to manage the client onboarding process
  • Organise own workload to ensure that reviews are undertaken in accordance with the required agreed timeframes
  • Ensure records are kept up to date and accurate, that client refresh and maintenance is done as required.
  • Collection of due diligence (including subsequent periodic review) and tax information for clients and investors to ensure compliance with relevant AML regulations and group policy
  • Aid the business in terms of any ad-hoc KYC queries or ongoing project work
  • FATCA, CRS – source and arrange to validate client tax documents when required
  • Onboarding Funds with local and offshore counterparties and brokers including updating of the DP list as they relate to ISDA’s, GMRA’s etc to ensure that funds are fully onboarded to trade across various asset classes
  • Maintenance of FICA, KYC on DocFox. You would be responsible for ongoing reviews and be responsible for the end-to-end process
  • The Client Onboarding Specialist is expected to stay current with all regulatory changes and requirements around client KYC
  • Preparation and maintenance of procedure documentation.
  • Improve processes, reduce risk and increase operational efficiencies

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related role, where your focus has been the onboarding of new clients. Experience in the Finance sector with ideally exposure to Fund Services / Asset Management / Collective Investments
  • Understanding of the regulations that guide the Financial Services industry
  • Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft products, in particular Excel, Outlook and Word as well as screening software

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Matric as a minimum, coupled with the required experience.
  • University Degree (Finance/Commerce) preferred
  • Strong Excel skills required
